& OTHER MEDIUMS
Welcome back to I Love
ProMarkers & Other Mediums and to our brand new Challenge #615.
This time our theme is Animals, and we cannot wait to see the gallery
filled with wonderful animal-inspired creations.
This is such a fun and
flexible theme, with plenty of room to make it your own. You might choose pets,
farm animals, woodland creatures, birds, insects, sea life, zoo animals,
fantasy creatures, or a quirky character with plenty of personality.
Whether your style is
cute and cheerful, bold and colourful, soft and elegant, or clean and simple,
there are so many ways to bring this theme to life. Add layers, flowers,
buttons, twine, die cuts, patterned papers, gems, texture, or keep your design
fresh and simple with a strong animal image.
However you choose to
interpret Animals, we are really looking forward to seeing your creative
ideas and all the wonderful projects you bring to the challenge.
We are delighted to be
sponsored by Dr Digi, whose wonderful digital images are perfect for
colouring and crafting.

No. 3 Pam’s Pearls
A huge congratulations to
Pam’s Pearls, our winner for this challenge.
This is such a sweet and
heart-warming card, with the adorable little dog immediately drawing you in.
The expression has so much character, and the soft, slightly vintage style
gives the whole design a gentle and affectionate feel.
The colouring is
beautifully handled, especially through the dark fur, where the lighter
highlights help bring out the shape and texture without losing the richness of
the black tones. The soft peach background behind the image creates a lovely
contrast and keeps the focal point warm and inviting.
The patterned papers and
distressed-style background add lots of interest, while the little heart
details bring everything together beautifully. The touches of turquoise work
especially well against the coral and peach shades, giving the card a fresh lift
and helping the sentiment stand out.
The message, A little
love goes a long way!, could not be more perfect for this design. It
captures the warmth of the image and gives the whole card such a positive,
uplifting feel.
A charming and
beautifully put-together card, full of personality, thoughtful detail, and
plenty of heart. A very deserving winner.

No. 4
The Crafty Den
The
Crafty Den has created such a fun and characterful birthday card, with the two
cheeky goats making a brilliant focal point. Their expressions and poses give
the design plenty of personality, and the playful **You old Goat!** sentiment
is the perfect match for the image.
The
colouring is beautifully handled, with warm browns and soft peach tones giving
the goats lovely depth and definition. The subtle shading around the image
creates a gentle outdoor feel, while the touches of green beneath their feet
help ground the little scene.
The
shaped panel is a lovely feature, with the stitched edging adding extra detail
while keeping the overall design clean and uncluttered. The warm patterned
background complements the earthy colours in the image and gives the card a
beautifully coordinated finish.
We
especially love the humour in this one. It is light-hearted, cheerful, and full
of charm without needing lots of embellishment to make an impact.
A
wonderfully fun birthday card with lovely colouring, clever simplicity, and
plenty of personality.
No. 7
Jane Savage
Jane has
created such a lovely, peaceful birthday card, and this one really stood out to
us for its warm, relaxed feel. The little character sitting by the water has
such a sweet expression, and the whole scene feels like a quiet moment caught
in time.
We really
love Jane’s colour choices here. The rich oranges and earthy greens work
beautifully together, giving the card a cosy, autumnal feel while still keeping
the image soft and gentle. The small details, from the leaves and butterflies
to the grass and fishing scene, all add to the storytelling without making the
design feel too busy.
The large
stitched sun is a brilliant touch and gives the card extra texture and
interest. The bold black frame around the outside also works really well,
helping all those softer colours inside stand out.
The
simple Happy Birthday sentiment finishes the card perfectly and lets Jane’s
lovely image and colouring remain the main focus.
A
beautifully thoughtful card with such a calm, charming feel. We really enjoyed
all the little details Jane has included in this one.
No. 5
Liz Cavill
Liz has
created such a cheerful little tag, and we loved the fun simplicity
of this one. The festive dog character leading the tiny birds with their
Christmas greenery gives the whole design so much personality and immediately
brings a smile.
The clean
white background allows every detail to stand out beautifully, while the
touches of traditional red and green bring in just the right amount of
Christmas colour. The red stitched ribbon at the side is a lovely addition and
gives the tag a little extra texture without taking anything away from the
image.
We
especially like how uncluttered the design is. There is plenty of open space,
yet the tag still feels full of character and festive charm. The A Gift For
You! sentiment works perfectly with the playful scene and completes the design
beautifully.
A
wonderfully fun and joyful Christmas tag from Liz, proving that sometimes a
simple design with a great image is all you need to make something really
memorable.

✨ Lisa
The colouring is warm and
lively, with rich golden-brown tones giving the fur plenty of depth and
texture. The darker shading around the face, ears, and paws helps bring the
character to life, while the softer background keeps the focus firmly on the
image.
The stencilled bone and
paw-print background is a great choice and ties perfectly into the animal theme
without making the card feel too busy. The bold black and white sentiments
stand out beautifully and add a fun, graphic feel to the design.
The Woof! Treats!
Walkies! wording is such a clever finishing touch and suits the character
perfectly, giving the card even more humour and personality.
A fun, bold, and
characterful card with lovely colouring, a playful layout, and a brilliant take
on the Animals theme.
✨ Caroline
L
The colouring is bright
and lively, with warm orange tones on the clothing contrasting nicely with the
cooler grey shades of the dog. The rich green grass adds a strong pop of colour
and helps ground the scene, while the softer background keeps the focus firmly
on the image.
The little Keep off the
grass sign adds an extra layer of comedy and makes the whole scene feel even
more playful. The bold Lead your troubles behind sentiment works brilliantly
with the image and adds a clever finishing touch.
The dark scalloped frame
gives the piece a strong, neat finish and helps all the colours stand out
clearly.
A fun and characterful
piece with cheerful colouring, plenty of humour, and a brilliantly playful
image.
✨ Clare
The
ostrich is such a brilliant character, with that long pink neck, oversized
feet, and fabulous expression. Clare’s colouring really brings it to life, with
soft pink tones contrasting against the deep black and grey feathers, while the
yellow beak and toes add just the right pop of brightness.
The
layered pink, white, and black edging gives the magnet a bold, polished finish
and makes the image stand out beautifully. It also gives the whole piece a
playful, almost cartoon-style look that suits the character perfectly.
We love
that Clare has taken the theme in a more practical direction and created
something that can actually be used and enjoyed every day.
A fun,
colourful, and original project with bags of personality, and a brilliant
example of thinking beyond the card for our Animals challenge.

✨ Helen
Helen has created a
really sweet card for our Animals theme, and there is so much charm in this
little scene. The dog peeking over the fence and the cat sitting below make it
feel like a tiny story in itself, which gives the card a lovely friendly feel.
The soft blue background
works beautifully with the outdoor scene, while the warm browns on the dog and
fence keep everything cosy and balanced. We also love the small touches of red
and green, which add just enough colour without taking attention away from the
main image.
The dark blue matting
frames the card nicely and helps the image stand out, while the little gems add
a simple finishing touch.
The sentiment, Friends
are the flowers in the garden of life, is perfect for the design and gives the
card an extra layer of warmth.
A lovely, cheerful make
from Helen, with a gentle colour palette, a sweet animal scene, and a really
thoughtful message.
✨ Ileana
Ileana has created such a fun and quirky card for our Animals
theme. The little rabbit in his festive hat has bags of personality, and that
bright blue muzzle and tummy make the image really stand out.
The colouring is cheerful and full of contrast, with cool
blues against the softer grey fur and deep red hat. The plaid background adds a
cosy feel, while the layered red and blue panels help frame the image nicely.
We especially like the snowflake detail and the little
button-style centre, which adds texture without making the card feel too busy.
The scalloped edging along the bottom gives the design another lovely finishing
touch.
The Buon Natale sentiment completes the card perfectly and
adds to the festive feel.
A playful and characterful make from Ileana, with bright
colouring, lovely layering, and a fun take on the Animals theme.
✨Judith
The colouring is bright
and energetic, with vivid pinks and purples on the dog set against that
striking lime green background. The orange bone adds another strong pop of
colour and makes the image feel even more fun and animated.
We really like the loose,
lively feel of the background, which suits the image perfectly and helps create
the sense that this little character is racing straight across the card. The
black detailing keeps everything clear and gives the design plenty of definition.
The bold Woohoo!
sentiment is the perfect finishing touch and matches the energy of the image
beautifully.
A fun, colourful, and
completely characterful make from Judith, with loads of personality and a
brilliant sense of movement.
✨Marjeta
Marjeta
has created a wonderfully detailed card for our Animals theme, with so
much going on in the scene that your eye keeps finding something new. The
little cats at the bottom add the animal element beautifully, while the rest of
the design builds a fun story around them.
The
colouring is bright and full of character, with the greens, blues, and warm
browns helping to bring the outdoor setting to life. We especially like the
contrast between the playful illustrated scene and the more muted map-style
panel on the left.
There is
so much lovely layering in this card, from the cityscape and fencing to the
grass, flowers, and travel details. The aeroplane and map give the design a
real sense of movement and adventure, while the number 60 adds a
personal celebratory touch.
The whole
card feels busy in the best possible way, with lots of detail but a clear focal
point. It is a really imaginative make and a great example of how an animal
theme can be worked into a much bigger scene.
A fun,
creative, and story-filled project from Marjeta, with plenty of personality and
lots of little details to enjoy.
