I LOVE PROMARKERS
& OTHER MEDIUMS
Welcome back to I
Love ProMarkers & Other Mediums and to our brand new Challenge #617.
This time our theme is Your Favourite Colours or Anything goes, and we cannot wait to see
the gallery filled with projects that really reflect your own personal style.
This is such a fun
and flexible theme, because there are no right or wrong colour choices. You
might love soft pastels, bold brights, rich jewel tones, earthy neutrals, cool
blues and greens, warm reds and oranges, or a favourite colour combination you
return to again and again. Whether your style is cute and cheerful, elegant and
detailed, bold and modern, or clean and simple, there are so many ways to make
this theme your own. Add layers, ribbons, flowers, die cuts, patterned papers,
gems, texture, or keep your design fresh and simple and let your favourite
colours do all the work.
However you choose to
interpret Your Favourite Colours, we are really looking forward to
seeing the palettes you love most and all the creative projects you bring to
the challenge.
We are delighted to
be sponsored by Colour of Love, whose wonderful digital images are perfect for
colouring and crafting.
The lucky winner of challenge #617 will receive 3 images to download from
the shop.

more of your wonderful creations.
We are delighted to
announce that the lucky winner of the #615 is:
Winner – No. 8 Elaine
A huge
congratulations to Elaine
Elaine has created
such a sweet and cheerful Christmas card, with a lovely little winter scene
featuring a child outside an igloo with two adorable penguins. There is a real
sense of fun in the image, and we love how it captures one of those playful
snowy moments rather than going down the more traditional Santa-and-reindeer
route.
The soft colouring
works beautifully. The icy blues and whites create the snowy setting, while the
pinks and greens in the clothing add warmth and personality. The little
penguins are a particularly lovely touch, one perched proudly on top of the
igloo and the other joining in beside the child.
We really like
Elaine’s choice of a soft pink background too. It is an unusual but very pretty
partner for the cooler winter colours and makes the whole card feel fresh and
different.
The circular image
has been framed with a fabulous silver glitter border filled with stars and
snowflakes. This adds plenty of Christmas sparkle and gives the card real
impact, while still allowing the sweet image to remain the main focus. The
narrow silver glitter strips on the left help carry that sparkle across the
rest of the design.
The Sparkle
sentiment could hardly be more appropriate and finishes everything off
perfectly.
A joyful and
beautifully put-together Christmas card from Elaine, with a lovely colour
palette, plenty of shimmer, and a sweet winter scene that made us smile. A very
deserving winner.

Our Top Three
In no particular
order:
No. 1 Jane Savage
Jane has created such
a warm and cheerful anniversary card, and the two little rabbits tending their
sunflowers make a wonderfully sweet focal point. There is a lovely sense of
companionship in the scene, which works perfectly with the Happy Anniversary
sentiment.
The warm oranges,
yellows, greens, and earthy browns give the card a gorgeous autumnal feel. Jane
has kept the colouring soft and natural on the rabbits, while the brighter
sunflowers and pumpkins add little bursts of colour and bring the garden scene
to life.
We really like how
the main image has been framed. The stitched detailing around the orange card
gives the design a neat handmade finish, while the softly textured image panel
adds interest without distracting from the characters.
The layered
sunflowers, leaves, and foliage in the corners add extra dimension and carry
the colours from the image out into the rest of the card. Those larger
embellishments also help balance the design beautifully.
A lovely card from
Jane, full of warmth, colour, and thoughtful detail. The sweet gardening scene
and autumn palette give it so much character, and it is easy to see why it
caught our eye.
No. 3 Eve
Eve
has created such a fun and cheerful Christmas card, with the little hedgehog
racing along with his reindeer friend bringing loads of movement and
personality to the design. The image has a playful feel that makes the whole
card instantly engaging.
The
colouring is bright and clean, with the red scarf giving a strong festive pop
against the softer browns, greens, and greys. The touches of sparkle beneath
the characters add just enough shimmer to suggest snow without taking over the
design.
We
really like the clean layout too. The large white panel gives the image plenty
of breathing room, while the bold red matting frames everything beautifully and
ties in with the scarf and embellishments.
The
small red gems add a neat finishing touch, and the Enjoy the Magic of the
Season sentiment works perfectly with the lively scene.
A
bright, playful card from Eve with lovely colouring, a strong clean layout, and
plenty of festive character.
No.
6 Alice K
Alice
has created such a distinctive card, and the trio of little cats gives it loads
of personality. Each one is doing something different, so the design feels
playful and full of movement rather than static.
The
mixed-media background works really well, with the soft blue and purple tones
giving the card an artistic, slightly wintry feel. Against that, the warm
orange cats stand out beautifully and become the clear focal point.
We
especially like the contrast between the stamped or textured background and the
black botanical shapes layered over the top. The touches of white speckling add
extra interest and give the foliage a frosted look without making the design
too busy.
The
layout feels loose and creative, with the cats appearing at different heights
and positions across the panel. It gives the whole card a lovely handmade,
expressive quality.
A fun
and imaginative make from Alice, with a great balance of colour, texture, and
character.

Team Makes
Our
Design Team have been busy creating a wonderful collection of inspiration for
this challenge using images from our sponsor, Colour of love. With the theme
Your Favourite Colour, the team have had the chance to really show their
individual style, and there is a lovely variety of colour palettes to enjoy.
Some
have chosen soft, delicate shades, while others have reached for brighter,
bolder colours or favourite combinations they return to again and again.
Alongside the colouring, you will find layered papers, die cuts,
embellishments, texture, sparkle, and lots of thoughtful little details.
That
is what makes this theme so much fun. There is no set colour palette to follow,
so every project can look completely different and still fit the challenge
perfectly.
We
hope the Design Team creations encourage you to reach for the colours you love
most and create something in your own style. Add your project to the challenge
gallery and show us what Your Favourite Colour looks like in your
crafting.
We
are really looking forward to seeing all those different colour choices filling
the gallery.
✨
Caroline L
Caroline L has
created a striking card for our Your Favourite Colour challenge, with a bold
combination of bright blue and orange that immediately catches the eye. The
beautiful girl surrounded by flowers makes a lovely focal point, and the strong
colour contrast gives the whole design plenty of impact.
The colouring is
especially effective here. The rich blue dress has been shaded to give the
folds depth and movement, while the warm orange flowers and hair tones create a
brilliant contrast against it. The softly blended blue background helps
everything stand out without competing with the main image.
Caroline has used
matting and layering really well, framing the coloured panel against the darker
background so the image remains the centre of attention. The black embossed
panel adds texture and interest, while the kraft-style corner pieces bring in
another layer without making the design feel overcrowded.
The orange ribbon and
bow are a lovely finishing touch, carrying the flower colour across the card
and helping to balance the layout. The small metallic-looking circle behind the
figure adds another subtle detail and gives the image a little extra depth.
Finished with the For
a Dear Friend sentiment, this is a bold and beautifully coordinated card from
Caroline L, with confident colour choices, lovely shading, and plenty of
texture and layering to enjoy.

Clare
Clare has created a
lovely card for our Your Favourite Colour challenge, using soft purples
throughout the design. The sweet image of the girl walking through the rain
gives the card a gentle, storybook feel, and the colour palette ties everything
together beautifully.
The colouring has
been handled really nicely, especially through the hair, clothing, and
umbrella. The deeper browns in the hair add plenty of definition, while the
purples and blues keep the overall look soft and coordinated. The small flowers
and greenery around her feet add extra detail without distracting from the main
image.
Clare has used
matting and layering to frame the image, placing it against coordinating purple
card and patterned paper. The polka-dot background adds interest, while the
decorative die-cut border down the side gives the layout a lovely delicate
finish.
The small pearl
embellishments add a subtle touch of dimension, and the vertical sentiment,
Leave a little sunshine where you go, suits the image perfectly and gives the
card a really positive feel.
A beautifully
coordinated make from Clare, with lovely colouring, pretty layering, and a soft
purple palette that works perfectly for the theme.

✨ Ileana
We are sending lots of love to Phoebe,
who is not feeling very well at the moment. We hope she is soon feeling
brighter, more comfortable, and back to being herself again.
We are thinking of both Phoebe
and Ileana and sending plenty of gentle cuddles and get-well wishes their
way.
✨Judith
Judith has created a
wonderfully bold birthday card for our Your Favourite Colour challenge, with
blue taking centre stage in a really striking way. The little dragon is full of
character, and the matching blue flowers around it make the whole image feel
beautifully coordinated.
The colouring works
especially well here, with several different shades of blue used across the
dragon and flowers to give the design depth rather than making everything look
flat. The bright yellow daffodil adds a lovely contrast, while the softer greens
and touch of purple in the butterfly stop the palette from becoming too
one-note.
Judith has fussy-cut
the main image and layered it onto the deep blue background, which gives the
design a more dimensional feel and helps the character stand out clearly. The
darker background is a clever choice too, as it makes all those brighter colours
pop.
The simple Happy
Birthday sentiment keeps the focus on the image, and the gold lettering ties in
nicely with the daffodil.
A fun and colourful
make from Judith, with bold colour choices, lovely contrast, and a strong
central image that works perfectly for the theme.
✨Marjeta
Marjeta
has created a beautifully detailed card for our Your Favourite Colour
challenge, with rich greens taking the lead and warm orange accents giving the
design a lovely lift.
The
central image is full of charm, with the little character nestled among the
leaves and flowers. The colouring is soft but detailed, especially through the
hair, face, foliage, and flower pot, and the touches of orange help draw the
eye through the whole design.
One
of the strongest features here is the amount of die-cut layering. Marjeta has
built up several intricate green die cuts behind the image, creating lots of
texture and depth without losing the focal point. The butterfly adds another
delicate layer and gives the card a little extra movement.
The
lace across the bottom softens the design nicely, while the black decorative
border underneath gives a stronger contrast and helps ground everything. That
mix of fine detail, texture, and bold colour works really well together.
A
lovely make from Marjeta, with lots to look at, clever layering, and a strong
green palette that fits the theme beautifully.
✨
Lisa
Lisa
has created a really fun card for our Your Favourite Colour challenge,
with pink taking the lead throughout the design. The candy-themed image is full
of personality, and the mix of pinks, soft yellows, and warm browns gives the
whole card a cheerful, playful feel.
The
colouring is especially effective on the character, with lovely shading through
the hair, clothing, and sweets helping to give the image shape and depth. The
soft blue eyes and little touches of orange and yellow add extra contrast
without pulling attention away from the pink palette.
Lisa
has used matting and layering to build up the card really well. The
black borders around the image panels and patterned papers make each section
stand out clearly, while the overlapping layers give the layout plenty of depth
and interest.
The
mix of gingham, floral, and butterfly papers works beautifully together and
keeps the card looking lively without becoming too busy. The banner-style
pieces add another graphic element and help lead the eye around the design.
The Let’s
Party sentiment is a perfect finishing touch and suits the fun, celebratory
image brilliantly.
A
bright and playful make from Lisa, with lovely colouring, strong layering, and
a pink colour scheme that fits the challenge beautifully.
