I love promarkers challenge #618

I LOVE PROMARKERS & OTHER MEDIUMS

It is lovely to have you back with us at I Love ProMarkers & Other

Mediums, and we hope you are ready for another month of creativity

and inspiration. Welcome to Challenge #618, where our new theme

is Flowers or Anything goes. We are really looking forward to seeing the gallery bloom

with all your beautiful creations. Flowers give us so much room to be

creative. You might choose roses, sunflowers, daisies, wildflowers,

blossom, bouquets, floral wreaths, flower-filled scenes, or simply add a

few blooms as part of your overall design.

Whether your style is soft and delicate, bright, and cheerful, elegant

and detailed, or bold and modern, there are so many ways to make

this theme your own. Add layers, ribbons, die cuts, patterned papers,

gems, texture, sparkle, or keep things clean and simple and let the

flowers take centre stage. However you choose to interpret Flowers,

we would love you to join us. Have fun with the theme, put your own

style into your project, and share it with us in the challenge gallery. We

cannot wait to see it fill with colour, creativity, and plenty of beautiful

blooms.

We are delighted to be sponsored by Sheepski, whose wonderful

digital images are perfect for colouring and crafting.

The lucky winner of challenge #618 will receive 3 images to download

from the shop.

✨ Ways to Enter ✨

While our challenge began with traditional blog entries, we

are also very happy to welcome projects shared through

TikTok and Instagram. Crafters now share their work in all

sorts of places, and we want the challenge to feel open and

accessible wherever you prefer to post your creations.

We have a separate page with full instructions explaining how

to enter using a TikTok or Instagram link. Please take a

moment to read the guidance before adding your entry, as

this helps us make sure we can view your project and include

it correctly.

We love being able to welcome entries from beyond the

traditional blogging world and hope this makes it even easier

for more crafters to join in, share their work, and be part of

the challenge.

We are delighted to announce that the lucky winner of  #616 is

No 2 Irene M

A huge congratulations to Irene M, our winner.

Irene has created such a charming card, full of little details that make

you want to stop and look properly. The sweet gnome sitting on his

mushroom makes a lovely focal point, while the tiny snail, butterflies,

mushrooms, and scattered leaves create a whole miniature woodland

scene around him.

The soft greens work beautifully throughout the design and give the

card a calm, natural feel. Irene has added warm touches of orange,

rust, and yellow through the leaves and smaller details, which lift the

palette and bring in a lovely autumnal feel without overpowering the

main image.

There is also some really lovely layering and die-cut work here. The

decorative oval frame gives the whole scene a clear structure, while the

layered ferns and curled foliage create depth around the character and

make it feel as though he is tucked right into the woodland. The

striped panel behind the image adds another subtle layer of texture

and helps the centre stand out.

We especially like how the small die-cut leaves have been scattered

around the frame rather than kept in one place. They help carry the

colours across the whole card and make the design feel beautifully

balanced.

The little gefeliciteerd! sentiment, meaning congratulations, finishes

the card neatly without taking attention away from the scene.

A wonderfully detailed and imaginative card from Irene, with lovely

colouring, clever layering, and so much personality packed into one

design. A very deserving winner.

Please grab your winner badge from the sidebar and contact us

to claim your prize.

 Our Top Three

In no particular order:

No. 5 Chris

Chris has created such a fun and full-of-character Halloween card, with

the two little witches immediately bringing a playful feel to the design.

Their expressions, hats, and bubbling cauldron make the whole scene

feel lively and mischievous.

The colouring is really effective, with rich purples, greens, oranges, and

darker charcoal tones giving the card a strong Halloween palette. The

warm orange glow behind the characters helps them stand out

beautifully and gives the background a lovely atmospheric feel.

We especially like the way the scene has been built up. The large moon

creates a strong focal area behind the witches, while the darker ground

and little graveyard details add depth and help set the scene without

making it too busy.

The bold Double Trouble lettering across the top is a brilliant finishing

touch and suits the image perfectly. The bright green letters also tie in

beautifully with the other green accents around the card.

A wonderfully playful make from Chris, full of personality, bold colour,

and brilliant Halloween detail.

No. 7 Sarah R

Sarah has created such a charming Halloween card, with a lovely

storybook feel to the whole scene. The little witch surrounded by cats

immediately draws you in, and there is something really sweet about all

those tiny characters gathered around her.

The colouring is beautifully handled, especially through the witch’s hair,

clothing, and hat. The soft purples, greens, and warm coppery tones

work really well together, while the darker shading around the

background gives the scene a slightly magical, atmospheric feel.

We really like the way Sarah has created depth in the design. The softer

blended background helps the main character stand out, while the

moon, clouds, and tiny bat add just enough detail above without taking

attention away from the focal image.

The little cats add so much personality and make the card feel playful

rather than spooky. The stitched-style border around the panel gives

everything a neat finish, and the slim sentiment across the top, May all

your wishes come true, adds a lovely positive touch.

A beautifully coloured and imaginative card from Sarah, full of character,

gentle Halloween atmosphere, and lots of little details to enjoy.

No. 19 Meg

Meg has created such a pretty floral card, with the bouquet taking centre

stage beautifully. The mix of pink, yellow, blue, and green gives the

whole design a fresh, cheerful feel, and there is plenty of detail to enjoy

without the card feeling overcrowded.

The colouring is lovely, especially through the petals where the deeper

shading helps give the flowers shape and dimension. The softer tones

around the edges of the blooms make them feel delicate, while the

darker centres add definition and draw the eye into the bouquet.

We really like the large circular focal panel, which gives the floral image

plenty of space and keeps the design feeling clean and balanced. The

softly blended pink and peach background behind it adds colour and

interest without competing with the flowers.

The little ribbon bow beneath the bouquet is a sweet finishing touch,

while the scattered pearl-style embellishments around the card add just a

hint of shine and help balance the layout.

A beautifully coordinated card from Meg, with lovely colouring, a soft

background, and a floral image that really deserves to be the star of the

design.

A quick reminder about our challenge dates

Our challenges are now open for *4 weeks*, giving you a little more time

to plan, create, colour, and join in at your own pace.

We know how easily life, work, family, and everything else can get in the

way of crafting, so we hope the longer challenge period makes things

feel a little more relaxed and gives more people the chance to take part.

There is no need to rush your project. Take your time, enjoy the process,

and add your creation to the gallery whenever you are ready.

We are really enjoying seeing the extra variety the longer challenge

period brings, and we hope it gives you even more opportunity to join

Design Team Inspiration

Our Design Team have been busy creating a beautiful collection of

inspiration for Challenge #618 – Flowers, and there is such a lovely

variety of floral projects to enjoy.

more detailed botanical designs, each project brings something

different to the theme. You will find beautiful colouring, clever

layouts, layered elements, patterned papers, die cuts, embellishments,

texture, and plenty of thoughtful finishing touches throughout the

gallery.

Some of the team have made flowers the main focal point, while

others have used them as part of a larger scene or as decorative

details within the design. That is what makes this theme so enjoyable,

because there are so many different ways to interpret it.

We hope their creations give you plenty of ideas and encourage you to

join in. Whether you love soft and romantic florals, bright and

cheerful blooms, elegant arrangements, or something a little more

unusual, we would love to see your take on the theme.

So gather your favourite floral images and crafty supplies, get

creating, and add your project to the challenge gallery. We cannot wait

to see it fill with beautiful blooms.

Become a guest DT member.

Other Mediums, both as Guest Design Team members and as part of

our regular Design Team.

If you enjoy colouring, creating, and sharing your work, we would be

delighted to hear from you. You do not need years of experience, a huge

following, or a perfectly polished portfolio. What matters most is

enthusiasm, creativity, and a love of crafting.

Our Guest Design Team spot is a lovely way to join us for a challenge,

share your style, and see what being part of the team is like. If you would

like to be considered, please email us using the contact details at the top

of the blog and include a few examples of your recent work.

We are also happy to hear from crafters who would like to join our

regular Design Team. If that sounds like something you would enjoy,

send us a few examples of your colouring and tell us a little about

yourself.

If you have been thinking about giving Design Team work a try, this

could be the perfect time. We would love to see what you create and

hopefully welcome you to the team.

Design Team Makes

Our Design Team have been busy creating a beautiful collection of

inspiration for this challenge using images from our wonderful sponsor,

Sheepski Designs. With Flowers as the theme, there is such a lovely

variety of floral projects to enjoy, each showing the team’s individual

style.

You will find everything from delicate blooms and pretty floral

arrangements to bolder designs where the flowers really take centre

stage. The team have used beautiful colouring, layered papers, die cuts,

embellishments, texture, sparkle, and lots of thoughtful finishing touches

to bring their projects to life.

One of the things we love about a floral theme is just how versatile it

can be. Flowers can be soft and romantic, bright and cheerful, elegant

and detailed, or simply used as a small accent within a larger design, so

every project can look completely different.

We hope the Design Team creations give you plenty of inspiration and

encourage you to join in. Choose your favourite floral image, add your

own creative touches, and share your project in the challenge gallery.

We are really looking forward to seeing the gallery fill with all your

beautiful floral creations.

✨ Jenn

Jenn has created a lovely floral thank-you card with a strong,

coordinated colour scheme. The bouquet of daffodil-style flowers in

the glass vase is the clear focal point, and the combination of yellow,

olive green, and soft blue gives the design a fresh but grounded feel.

The colouring is simple but effective. Jenn has used slightly deeper

tones around the petal centres and edges to give the flowers more

definition, while the green stems help separate the individual blooms

inside the vase. The pale blue shading on the glass adds just enough

colour to suggest transparency without making the vase look too

heavy.

The main panel has been framed with multiple die-cut layers,

including a darker olive-green mat with a distressed edge. This creates

depth around the focal image and gives the card a slightly more

textured, handmade finish. The lighter green inking around the edge

of the image panel adds another soft transition between the white

centre and the darker frame.

The yellow background card keeps the palette consistent, while the

darker green printed detail in the corner helps balance the stronger

frame around the image. The stitched-effect edging around the central

panel adds a neat finishing detail without distracting from the flowers.

The simple Thank you sentiment has been kept small and placed

neatly at the top of the image, which means the bouquet remains the

main focus.

A well-balanced card from Jenn, with effective layering, subtle edge

shading, and a carefully controlled colour palette that lets the floral

image stand out clearly.

✨ Caroline S

✨ Clare

Clare has created a bright and beautifully detailed floral birthday card,

with the large hand-tied bouquet filling the centre of the design. The

mix of flower shapes and colours gives the image plenty of interest,

while the clean layout keeps everything easy to take in.

The colouring is particularly effective because Clare has varied the

depth across the flowers rather than treating them all the same. The

oranges are richer and bolder, while the pinks, lilacs, and softer cream

tones are more delicate. This creates contrast within the bouquet and

helps individual blooms stand out from one another. The green stems

have been kept fresh and simple, giving the eye somewhere to rest

beneath all that floral detail.

The image panel has been matted onto a narrow lilac layer, which

subtly picks up the cooler shades in the bouquet and gives the artwork

a neat framed finish. Clare has also made good use of negative space,

leaving plenty of white around the image so the bouquet remains the

main focus rather than competing with extra background elements.

The scalloped card base adds a soft decorative edge, which suits the

floral theme nicely and helps keep the overall design feminine without

becoming overly fussy.

The Happy Birthday sentiment has been added in coordinating lilac

lettering, bringing the colour palette together and giving the card a

simple, polished finish.

A beautifully balanced card from Clare, with thoughtful colouring,

clean matting, and strong use of space to let the floral image do most

of the talking.

✨ Jacquie

✨ Helen

Helen has created a beautifully balanced floral card with a soft, elegant

feel. The bouquet of flowers in the glass vase forms a strong central

focal point, while the warm yellow and olive-green palette keeps the

whole design cohesive.

The colouring has been kept quite restrained, using deeper tones around

the edges of the petals and leaves to create definition without making the

image too heavy. The darker stems inside the vase add contrast and help

give the arrangement structure, while the fallen petals at the base make

the image feel a little more natural and less formal.

Helen has used matting and layering very effectively. The main image

has been cut into a tall arched panel and mounted onto a darker green

layer, which creates a clear frame around the artwork and immediately

draws the eye towards the centre. The pierced detailing around the edge

of the arch adds a subtle decorative finish without distracting from the

flowers.

Behind the focal panel, the soft checked background paper adds pattern

and texture, while the darker green border ties back into the mat around

the image. This repetition of colour helps the whole card feel carefully

coordinated.

The vertical Thank You sentiment is a clever placement choice, using the

open space beside the bouquet rather than adding another separate

panel. The small gem embellishments in the corners add just enough

shine to finish the card without making it feel over-decorated.

A refined and thoughtfully constructed card from Helen, with strong use

of framing, colour repetition, and negative space to keep the floral image

firmly in focus.

✨ Ileana

Ileana has created a wonderfully textured floral card with a lovely vintage, slightly rustic feel. The purple flowers tucked into the seed packet make a beautiful focal point, and the whole design feels almost like something discovered in an old gardener’s notebook.

The flowers have been coloured with several shades of purple, using deeper tones around the folds and centres of the petals to create depth. Touches of green in the leaves and buds provide a natural contrast, while the bright detail in the flower centres helps draw the eye into the image.

The background is particularly effective. Ileana has used ink blending and distressing around the edges, combining turquoise, green, and earthy brown tones to create an aged, weathered effect. The darker shading around the outside helps frame the lighter centre and gives the card much more depth.

There is also some lovely layering and texture in the central design. The seed packet sits behind the flowers, while the strip of crochet-style lace across the bottom adds a tactile element and reinforces the vintage garden feel. The twine bow at the top brings in another natural texture and works perfectly with the gardening theme.

The diamond pattern showing through towards the bottom adds a little extra colour and interest, while the scattered gems provide just enough sparkle to contrast with the more distressed elements.

A beautifully detailed make from Ileana, combining colouring, ink blending, distressing, layering, and mixed textures to create a floral design with plenty of character.

✨Judith

Judith has created a beautifully soft floral card, with the lilies arranged

in the blue jug forming a very elegant focal point. The pale colour

palette gives the whole design a calm, delicate feel and lets the flowers

remain the star of the card.

The colouring has been handled with a light touch. Soft pink shading

has been added around the edges and folds of the lily petals to give

them shape without losing their white appearance, while the orange

stamens provide just enough contrast to bring the flowers to life. The

jug has been shaded in pale blues, with slightly deeper tones around

the edges and folds to create a rounded, three-dimensional effect.

The main image panel has been placed at a slight angle rather than

sitting perfectly straight. This simple design choice adds movement

and stops the layout from feeling too formal. The pale blue edging

around the panel also helps separate it from the patterned paper

underneath.

Judith has kept the background fairly subtle, using a grey floral paper

that echoes the botanical theme without competing with the main

image. The scalloped card base adds another gentle decorative detail

and works really well with the softness of the design.

The pearl embellishments have been grouped in opposite corners of

the focal panel. This creates balance across the card and adds a small

amount of shine without overwhelming the image.

A beautifully controlled design from Judith, with careful shading, a

soft coordinated palette, and thoughtful use of angle, pattern, and

embellishment to keep the floral image firmly in focus.

✨Marjeta

Marjeta has created a beautifully structured floral card, with the bouquet

of daffodils forming a delicate focal point inside a striking oval frame.

The warm yellows and oranges of the flowers work especially well

against the darker background, giving the image plenty of contrast.

The colouring includes deeper shading around the centres and edges of

the petals, which helps separate the individual flowers and gives the

bouquet more dimension. Soft green has been used through the stems

and leaves, keeping the arrangement natural without competing with the

brighter blooms.

Marjeta has also added inked shading around the image, concentrating

more colour towards the edges and leaving the centre lighter. This

creates a subtle spotlight effect and naturally draws the eye towards the

bouquet.

The oval design has been built up with several layers. A white stitched-

effect outer frame gives the piece a clean boundary, while the intricate

golden die-cut layer inside adds texture and decorative detail. The dark

layer beneath creates strong contrast and helps those finer die-cut shapes

stand out clearly.

The simple kraft card base is a clever choice because it allows the

detailed centrepiece to do most of the work without introducing another

competing pattern or colour.

The layered sentiment at the bottom, Vse najboljše, meaning “All the

best”, echoes the black, cream, and golden tones from the main panel

and gives the design a neat visual finish.

A carefully composed card from Marjeta, with effective ink blending,

detailed die-cut layering, and strong use of contrast to showcase the

floral image.

✨ Lisa

Lisa has created a beautifully coordinated floral card, using soft coral

pinks and buttery yellows to give the whole design a fresh, cheerful feel.

The tall floral image forms a strong focal point, while the surrounding

layers and patterned papers add plenty of structure and interest.

The colouring is nicely controlled, with deeper shading towards the

centres and bases of the petals helping to create shape and separation

between the flowers. The green stems and leaves add contrast, while the

mix of pink and yellow blooms keeps the arrangement lively without

becoming too busy.

Lisa has used matting and layering very effectively throughout the

design. The main floral panel has been framed with several narrow

layers, which gives the image a crisp border and helps it stand out from

the surrounding card. The scalloped edge around the image softens the

straight lines and ties in nicely with the circular sentiment panel.

The patterned papers have been used in smaller sections rather than

covering the whole card. This helps keep the design balanced and allows

the floral image to remain the main feature. The folded corner details

add another layer of interest and introduce the coordinating papers in a

clever way.

The circular Just For You sentiment sits neatly over the patterned strip,

while the intricate butterfly die cut adds a lovely finishing detail. The

pearl centre gives the butterfly just a small touch of dimension and

shine.

A carefully designed card from Lisa, with strong use of coordinated

colour, layered framing, patterned-paper placement, and decorative die

cuts to create a polished floral design.

✨ Sharon

Sharon has created a striking floral birthday card, with the bright

yellow daffodils standing out beautifully against the deep teal

background. The strong contrast between the yellow flowers, green

foliage, and darker frame gives the design plenty of impact.

The daffodil image has lots of tonal variation, with deeper orange

shades through the centres of the flowers and brighter yellow across

the petals. The pale blue glass vase adds a cooler note to the palette

and helps separate the stems from the white background.

The main image sits inside a large oval panel, framed with a scalloped

teal layer that draws the eye straight towards the bouquet. Behind it,

the intricate floral background adds pattern and texture while allowing

the white card base to show through.

The shaped Happy Birthday sentiment panel mirrors the teal used

elsewhere in the design and helps balance the composition at the

bottom of the card. Small gem embellishments add a simple finishing

touch.

A bold and carefully coordinated floral design from Sharon, with

strong colour contrast, decorative framing, and an eye-catching central

image.

✨ Caroline L

Caroline L has created a bold floral design using warm coral-red lilies

against a vivid turquoise-blue jug. The strong contrast between the

flowers and the vase gives the image plenty of impact, while the green

leaves help break up the warmer tones and keep the arrangement

balanced.

The colouring has been built up with visible tonal variation rather

than flat blocks of colour. Caroline has used deeper reds through the

folds and centres of the lilies, with softer orange tones layered over

the petals to give them warmth and shape. The stamens have been

picked out in golden yellow, which adds another small point of

contrast within the bouquet.

The jug has been coloured in a rich blue, with darker shading around

the edges and lower areas to suggest curvature. This helps the vase

feel more rounded and gives the whole image a stronger sense of

dimension.

The design itself is kept very clean, with no extra patterned papers or

heavy embellishment competing with the image. That use of negative

space works particularly well here because it allows the colouring and

floral detail to remain the main focus.

A strong and confident floral make from Caroline L, with effective

contrast, layered shading, and a simple presentation that lets the image

speak for itself.
