Welcome back to I
Love ProMarkers & Other Mediums and to our brand new Challenge #616.
This time our theme is Christmas or Anything goes, and we cannot wait to see the gallery
filled with wonderful festive creations.
This is such a fun
and flexible theme, with plenty of room to make it your own. You might choose
Santa, snowmen, reindeer, Christmas trees, presents, baubles, festive animals,
cosy winter scenes, angels, or anything else that captures the spirit of the season.
Whether your style is
cute and cheerful, traditional and cosy, elegant and detailed, or bright and
playful, there are so many ways to bring this theme to life. Add layers,
ribbons, glitter, snowflakes, die cuts, patterned papers, gems, texture, or
keep your design fresh and simple with a strong festive image.
However you choose to
interpret Christmas, we are really looking forward to seeing your
creative ideas and all the wonderful projects you bring to the challenge.

challenge has always centred around blog entries, we are also happy to welcome
entries shared through TikTok and Instagram, alongside traditional blog posts.
The crafting community shares creativity in lots of different places now, and
we would love to see your work wherever you choose to post it.
We now have a

links. Please make sure you read the guidance carefully before adding your
entry, so your link can be checked and included properly.

A huge
congratulations to Lia, our winner for Challenge #614.
We absolutely loved
Lia’s beautiful mixed-media card. The rich blue flowers immediately catch the
eye, but the more you look, the more little details you notice. There is so
much depth in the background, and everything works together in such a natural,
creative way.
The soft washes of
blue, cream, and warm brown give the card a wonderfully expressive feel, while
the stamped marks, stars, butterflies, splatters, and fine black details add
layers of texture and interest. It feels artistic and free without ever looking
too busy.
The flowers are
coloured beautifully and really stand out against the background, while the
fresh green leaves add just the right amount of contrast. We also love how the
sentiments have been worked into the design so naturally, becoming part of the
overall composition rather than sitting separately from it.
This is one of those
cards that keeps drawing you back for another look because there is always
another detail to notice. It feels thoughtful, creative, and full of
personality.

No 5 Marlene
Marlene
has created such a lovely Christmas card, with a soft, traditional feel that
works beautifully for the season. The little bird perched among the winter
branches is a really sweet focal point and gives the whole card a calm, wintry
look.
The
cool blues and greys work so well together, and the touches of red in the
flowers, berries, ribbon, and sentiment frame lift the design perfectly. It is
a lovely balance of soft winter colours with just enough festive warmth.
We
also really like the circular die-cut frame around the image. It adds a pretty
decorative touch without taking anything away from the bird, while the
poinsettia-style flowers and bow give the card some extra texture and interest.
The A
Christmas Wish For You sentiment finishes everything off nicely and keeps the
overall design feeling simple and elegant.

No 6 Chrissy
Chrissy
has created such a fun and festive card, and that wonderfully quirky little
bird immediately makes you smile. The pinecone-style feathers are such a
brilliant feature and give the whole image loads of character.
We
really like the mix of traditional Christmas colours here. The red tartan
background gives the card a cosy feel, while the greenery, holly, berries, and
softer natural tones in the bird help everything work together beautifully.
The
large central image has been allowed to take centre stage, and the white edging
around it helps it stand out clearly against the stronger patterned background.
The little bauble details and winter foliage add plenty of seasonal interest
without making the design feel overcrowded.
The
Sending Winter Hugs sentiment is a lovely finishing touch and suits the warm,
cheerful feel of the card perfectly.

Astrid
has created a lovely card with a soft, peaceful feel. The little snowman inside
the globe makes a sweet focal point, and the whole design is beautifully
balanced.
The
cool greys and blues work really well together, while the small touches of
yellow in the stars add just enough warmth to lift the palette. The patterned
papers add detail without making the card feel too busy.
We
especially like the layered snow globe effect and the way the different panels
frame the image. The poinsettia-style flower and foliage in the top corner add
lovely texture, while the small star embellishment gives the design a gentle
finishing touch.
The
Let it snow and Merry Christmas sentiments suit the card perfectly and complete
the design nicely.

We have a little update to share with
you.
From now on, our challenges will stay

Life gets busy, and we know it is not
always easy to finish a project within two weeks, so we feel this will make the
challenges more relaxed and easier for more people to take part.

really embraced the theme in their own individual ways.

Team Makes
Our
Design Team have been busy creating a wonderful collection of inspiration for
this challenge using images from our sponsor, Di’s Digis. There is such a
lovely mix of Christmas projects to enjoy, with cute characters, traditional
seasonal designs, cosy scenes, and plenty of festive personality throughout.
You
will find a great variety of styles, from bright and cheerful cards to softer,
more detailed makes with beautiful colouring, layers, patterned papers, die
cuts, sparkle, and thoughtful finishing touches. Each project brings something
a little different and shows just how much fun this theme can be.

Sharon has created a beautifully festive card with a wonderfully traditional Christmas feel. The cheerful gnome is such a strong focal point, and the whole design is full of rich seasonal colour without feeling overcrowded.
The colouring is especially
effective, with smooth blending through the reds, greens, and browns to give
the image depth. The folds in the hat, the texture in the beard, and the
shading on the boots all help bring the character to life. The small touches of
gold on the stars and baubles add a lovely warm glow and tie in beautifully
with the gold matting around the image.
Sharon has used layering and
matting really well here. The main image is framed with green and gold card,
which helps it stand out clearly from the background. The red snowflake strip
down the side adds a bold festive contrast, while the white embossed snowflake

Clare has created a

personality, and the mix of bright colours gives the whole design a warm,
playful feel.
The colouring is
lively and varied, with greens, reds, blues, purples, and oranges all working
together without overwhelming the image. The wooden sign has been shaded nicely
too, which helps it look more dimensional and gives the centre panel extra interest.
Clare has used
matting and layering to build up the design, with the image framed in red
before being placed over several coordinating patterned papers. This helps
separate each layer clearly and gives the card a fuller, more finished look.
The mix of spots,
stripes, and festive colours in the background adds lots of interest, while the
tilted Warm Wishes sentiment gives the layout a slightly more relaxed, playful
